Nothing Happening in Meditation?

Posted on Aug 2nd, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra

Nothing happening in your meditations? Maybe you just don't know what to look for?

Many beginning meditators will complain of the lack of anything interesting happening when they sit down to meditate. They hear stories about awesome experiences that occur when others meditate and this is often one of the things that motivates people to begin meditating. They desire these same experiences. But what many fail to realize is that for these big experiences to happen they have to learn to open themselves up to the subtle experiences that are happening that they are simply unaware of because they are looking in the wrong place.

When people sit down to meditate they immediately look for "experiences they can relate to". They are looking for some overt, over the top experience to grab them by the collar and take them for a ride.

These types of experiences definitely do happen, but usually only to people who have learned to open themselves to the Universe in the correct way.

The universe steps forward when everything is in the right place. If you aren't open yourself to the manner in which the experience will come, you have blocked off the path in which it will appear. All the complaining in the world won't change the fact that you refuse to open the door.

When you sit down to meditate, pay close attention to the subtle. Pay attention to the feelings and impressions you get. In the beginning, this is where the meat lies. Don't expect crazy lights and black holes, pay attention to how things feel. The things that seem out of the ordinary. These are the experiences that will open your brain to more profound experiences down the road. ou are learning to navigate foreign spaces that your consciousness does not recognize.

Just sit and relax, keep your mind clear, and let whatever is going happen to you, happen. Don't try to expect something in particular or box what starts to happen into a preconception of what you think it should be.

Spirituality is always something other that what you think it will be. This is the beauty of it and also the trap that keeps most from finding its secrets. By looking for experiences you can relate to, you end up missing what the Universe truly has to offer. What you are looking for are things you "cannot" currently conceive of.

The Core Program from the Higher Balance Institute is by far the most effective knowledge for understanding meditation that I have run across in my lifetime seeking out spirituality. Nothing comes anywhere close. I urge anyone who is serious about pursuing spirituality to make this investment into your eternity.

The Foundation Meditation that is included in Core 1 from the Higher Balance Institute is by far the most effective knowledge for understanding meditation that I have run across in my journey seeking out spirituality. Nothing comes anywhere close.

Awareness vs Focus

Posted on Aug 2nd, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra

There is a subtle difference in perception between focusing on something and being aware of it.

There is a subtle difference in perception between focusing on something and being aware of it. When most people think of focus, concentration and similar words, they generally tend to associate force or pressure, some type of concerted effort with the process being described. Focus and concentration imply strain and fatigue. There is a mental limit on how much can be done based on some type of endurance.

Awareness on the other hand is a much more open and free flowing word. It implies a knowing without much thought or effort. The information is there and accessible but it does not require much to get to it. Awareness doesn't take energy like holding a pen steady, it only requires mental attention. You can stay aware of something as long as you desire or until you become distracted.

When working with meditation, non thought, psychic techniques and such, it is better to think of using awareness than focus or concentration.

In Kenpo, there was a concept used called black dot and white dot focus. If you imagine a black square with a white dot in the center, you will notice that you tend to get tunnel vision, only observing the white circle. The black tends to fade away ad you become drawn into the circle.

If you instead imagine a white square with a black circle in the center, you will be more aware of the surroundings and not become so fixated on the black circle as you were with the white circle.

Awareness is the same thing. We have a chosen item but it does not preclude awareness of other things surrounding this item. However, we can also choose to not be aware of our surroundings as is done in meditation. We hold our awareness on the chakra but allow everything else to fade away so we can trap the attention, which will cause us to shift into another vibration.

Awareness is not something to be forced. When concentrating on the chakra, do not attempt to block anything out, simply hold your awareness of the chakra and remove your awareness from all else. Simply do not give anything else your attention. Awareness is an energy that moves out from your body. You can retract it with your consciousness. Allow your awareness to more fully move into the space of chakra without the distractions of the body, the brain and the environment. When this is done properly and for a long enough time, this is the skill you are developing, you will jump into experiences with regularity.

Perceptual Responsibility

Posted on Aug 2nd, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra
When you read a book, see a movie or participate in a conversation, what decides what you make of it? Where does your judgment of it come from? How do you know how to feel?

"There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." William Shakespeare

When you read a book, see a movie or participate in a conversation, what decides what you make of it? Where does your judgment of it come from?

Are you arguing with an idiot, are they being unreasonable? How do you know?

Your perceptions are based on your experiences and your cultural programming. When you hear or see something, you immediately decide you must make a judgment about what it is, how it is and if it's good or bad. You feel it has to be cataloged and assigned a position in reality on based on your infinite wisdom.

The problem is that we rarely pay attention to this process or to the influences that underlie it's construction. We simply go about tagging what we experience without the slightest thought given to our own slant, bias or the role we play in the outcome we are perceiving. We automatically place the blame and burden on the shoulders of 'the other' and give no consideration to the idea that we have a part to play in this dance.

In truth, there is no need to participate in this type of thinking. You are in possession of other kinds of intelligences that do not require this kind of excessive tagging. You can simply observe and record to the best of your current ability 'as is' by remaining in non-thought.

What does it accomplish to pronounce another person as arrogant or dressed stupidly or full of internal contradictions? Where do your judgments come from? Why is there the selfish need to make something into anything else? Where is your sense of responsibility in your perceptions?

You decide your thoughts just as much as you decide to move your body across the room or pick up a glass of water. It is a choice. If you decide your thoughts, then you also decide your perceptions. Your perceptions are your choice. You can choose to see the world as full of beauty or full of evil. A broken glass can be a disaster or a work of art. Being late for work can be the start of a day of negative happenings or the event that may have saved your life.

Just as you must put effort into your techniques, you must also put work into your mental framework. This is what mindfulness is. It is not something you work on every now and then, it is a constant, ongoing process. It is the new way you decide to navigate your existence. Aware and conscious instead of asleep, deciding instead of reacting.

Everyone is way too quick to point the finger, blame, make excuses and all the rest. YOU must take control of your own destiny. All levels of development are based on the same thing...

EFFORT.

Effort through exercising your awareness.

Effort through developing your techniques.

Effort through reflecting on your knowledge, your consciousness and your state of being.

Looking at the contents of who you are and who you think you are. Seeing what is real and true and what is ego and illusory.

How many of you still become irritated by the simple things like;

A car cutting you off?

Someone accidentally stepping on your foot?

The guy in the grocery checkout who writes a check for a candy bar?

Your children asking you another question you feel is beneath you because you are too wise to waste your time teaching those who don't know better?

Your sister notices you put on a few pounds?

Being woken up in the middle of the night because a friend needs your help?

Having your plans change and not work out the way you had otherwise hoped?

The mail being late?

Getting a flat tire?

Missing a movie you wanted to see?

Your brother knocks your favorite ceramic piece of nonsense of your mantle and breaks it?

The guy at the pizza place got your order wrong?

Someone splashed water on your newly washed car?

Junior tracked mud into the house or decided to unload all of the drawers of clothing you had to impress you?

Someone isn't meeting your expectations about how you feel a person should act?

Someone says your wife looks fat in her new dress?

If you can't keep control of your thoughts and emotions when it comes to mundane things like this, what kind of luck will you have when attempting to travel into dimensional states that require absolute mental precision and control? Don't fool yourself.

The mind and will must be strong in order to achieve these things. It requires discipline, effort and responsibility for your place and your results.

To learn more about your thoughts, how they are shaped, and how you can better direct them to a more positive life experience, I recommend Thought Reflection from the Higher Balance Institute

90% of People Do Not Have Souls

Posted on Aug 6th, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra
The soul is rare. Even among sentient beings. Where do souls come from and how are they created?

Most religions teach that everyone has a soul.. Even among the non-religious you would likely find a similar opinion. But if you ask someone what a soul actually is, you don't get a very good answer.

A soul is the energy embodiment of the experiences you have collectively lived through all your lives. Your soul is the larger part of your existence that is able to continue from life to life once the physical body dies. But in order to have a soul you must first build one.

Everything in the universe requires an exchange of energy. Nothing is freely given without cost. Fire requires wood, animals require food, trees require nutrients that are processed through photosynthesis. Looking at the cellular level we see that nutrients must be taken in and waste must be excreted. You want muscles? It is going to require effort. Want to make more money? Same thing. Effort. So why should the possession of a soul be any different? Why should we assume that it is free of any effort on our part?

A soul is created through reflecting on one's identity. By pondering your existence, by asking "Is this all that I am?" you start to draw together the energetic threads that build the soul. These threads are weak and need to be strengthened over time. This is not an overnight process. Years of effort are required to build a soul strong enough to exist beyond the death of the physical body.

If you never spend any time thinking about what you are and believe that your physical body is your entire existence, what will be left once your body dies? What will hold together your consciousness when your heart stops pumping and your electrical energy stops moving? It will simply collapse, like the memory in a computer when the power goes out. In order for consciousness to continue after death you have to have the ability to exist outside of your physical body independently.

Those who have not built a soul have their consciousness dissipate into the collective consciousness of the Earth or Gaia. The majority of people and animals become part of the collective like rain drops in a bucket. The wonderful thing is that anyone can build a soul, it simply requires the choice to put forth the effort. Whether or not you will move beyond this life to other worlds and other possibilities is completely up to you.

To learn about all aspects of the soul. I recommend the awesome 3 hour audio course, Cycles of the Soul. Every conceivable question is answered and at the end Eric leads you through a past life regression.

Dare to become something new.

Your Spiritual Paranormal Toolbox

Posted on Aug 11th, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra
What tools are available to the spiritual or paranormal seeker? Having the right tools in your toolbox could mean the difference between success and failure. Are you well prepared enough for your journey?

I wanted to talk about the things that could or should be in the tool box of psychics, paranormal investigators, seekers of spiritual awakening, healers and those looking to experience the most of what life has to offer. One must have the right tool for the job or it makes life very difficult.

1. Awareness. Without awareness you aren't going to accomplish much. Man walks around in a sleep throughout his day, he thinks he is aware but in reality he is more like a complex organic robot than a free thinking being. The more you can be aware of, both internally and externally, more choice you have to guide the direction of your life.

2. A developed 6th sense. When communicating with entities, doing a healing, getting premonitions, scanning or any other energy related activity, it is your 6th sense that is going to be your primary means of receiving data. Like your muscles, if your 6th sense is out of shape from lack of use or lack of development, the amount and clarity of information you receive will be greatly lessened.

3. Non Thought. A good grasp on non thought is essential to doing any effective spiritual work. If you are unable to control the babble in your head you will be unable to hold your concentration long enough to manifest, communicate with entities, astral travel or anything else.

4. Meditation. Meditation is the cornerstone of all spiritual and paranormal work. It is the foundation that all other techniques and knowledge rest on. The correct type of meditation is essential to developing non thought and storing up prana to use for your 6th sense abilities.

5. Scanning. Scanning is the ability to know things about people or your environment. Good scanning requires non thought and is a foundational 6th sense ability. Scanning is a requirement for anyone interested in ghost hunting.

6. Assimilation. With assimilation you actually become the object or being you are trying to get information about. Scanning is a quick overview, assimilation is a more focused and concentrated application for a single object or being.

7. Feels like. By taking scanning to the next level, you learn the language of "feels like". Everything in the universe has a unique frequency and hence a "feels like". This language can be learned and used in all areas of life.

8. Energy Movements. The more you are able to feel and work with your own energy, the more you will be able to feel other energy and work with it. Like your muscles, if your energy bodies are not exercised, they wither and deteriorate. "What you don't use, you lose."

9. High Guard. High Guard is the art of energy defense. Anyone going ghost hunting should know that they can be attacked on an energy level by entities. Knowing how to defend yourself is key. High Guard also has many applications for defense and well being when dealing with people and every day life as well.

10. Telepathy. To communicate without words is a very handy skill not only in ghost hunting (where its essential) but also when learning to communicate as energy. Energy beings do not have vocal chords to talk with, they use telepathy and "feels like" to communicate.

11. The In-Between. The In between is the place where matter and energy converge to become one another. Having the ability to move into this space of consciousness is what has allowed the masters of old to accomplish the miracles you have always read stories about.

12. Astral Projection/Remote Viewing. How wonderful it is to be able to explore the universe without having to leave the privacy of your own house. Projection is a great way to gather information or take a quick vacation.

13 Surrender. Surrender is an essential tool for spiritual development. The secrets of the Universe cannot be taken or stolen, they must be given. Learning to operate in the state of surrender allow the Universe to unfold for you in ways you cannot possibly imagine. Very potent stuff.

14 The Tones of God. The tones are the frequencies of God that can be heard when silence is deafening. These tones can be heard anywhere by anyone and within them lies a secret that masters have kept secret for thousands of years. The secret of bending time and space.

15 Psychometry. Psychometry is the ability to scan an object and gather information about it or its owner.

16 Photometry. Photometry is similar to scanning except photographs are used instead of objects.

17 Dimension Walking. Dimension walking is the ability to shift your consciousness to the left and perceive the dimensional components of life that we are normally unaware of. One can see portals, dimensional energies and structures with this technique. This techniques is related to the In-Between.

18 Time Stepping. Time Stepping is the technique of setting up a feedback loop with your past and future selves in order to give yourself premonitions or change aspects of your past.

19 Water of Life. The Water of Life is a technique to absorb massive amounts of prana and raise your tonal significantly in a short amount of time. This 15 minute technique will greatly assist you in storing up prana to be used for other psychic techniques.

20. Ties that Bind. Objects can be programmed to have a specific intent and therefore a specific effect on a person or an environment. You can listen to Ties that Bind free.

Why Is Change So Difficult?

Posted on Aug 12th, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra
Over the last 25 years, thousands of self help books and programs have flooded the marketplace. Millions of people all over the world have invested in these programs in order to bring about some type of change in their life. Yet strangley, most people never do change. No matter how much they hear or read or try, nothing seems to change. The question is why?

There are two main reasons why change is so difficult.

1 Is you have the entire weight of the Gaia consciousness telling you how to act as an organism within the planet. In the same way that you are the god consciousness of your entire body and have a plan for all the cells in your body, so too does the planet have a consciousness that sets the tone for all the organisms within it. Like a computer program it is constantly telling you what to do and how to be. This is why the majority of people are the same kind of person. There isn't a lot of diversity in behavior, opinions, etc. Standing out is seen as rocking the boat, so the consciousness of Gaia pushes you to stay in line.

Now this doesn't mean that it tells you what foods to eat or if you should be a democrat or not. What it is really telling you is to be concerned with trivial things and stick to the program. Be born, grow up, make babies and die. That is the basic program for all beings on this planet. When you die all of your experiences are released, like rain drops into a bucket, into the Gaia consciousness. When this happens, they cease to exist as independent beings. They become recordings of who they were in their lives and are stored as part of the collective consciousness or Akashic Record. The only way to avoid this fate is create a soul and become something more than what you are.

The planet does not want you to become a spiritual being. It need the experiences of beings to develop and grow. If you forge a soul and gain the capability of changing the program, moving outside of it or even leaving Gaia in a future incarnation you have glitched the program in a way. Now, because the weight of the Gaia consciousness is so great, only the strongest and the most dedicated can ever break free from this hold. There is no danger in everyone forming souls and ruining the system. Only the very best, the most diligent can make it.

2 The second reason that change is so hard is because behavior has a physical component that must also be changed. When you were a baby you had no coordination in your body. You had to learn to use your arms and legs. Every time you did a particular movement, a neural pathway was created and subsequently strengthened in your brain by each repetition. Once you ingrain this movement deeply enough, you cannot forget it. It is now a permanent physical structure in your brain. It has been hardwired.

If you learned to the play the piano and did not have your bad habits corrected as you were learning them, those bad habits become ingrained in your brain. The only way to correct those habits is to retrain the brain by building new pathways to do it correctly. The older we are, the more difficult this is to accomplish. But what it is important to note is that it takes thousands of repetitions ingrain a movement and it is even more difficult to over write an old pathway with a new one.

Now, if you look at your behavior patterns you will see that in the same way that you learned to extend your fingers as a child, you also learned to react to different behavioral stimuli. You didn't want to do your homework or take out the trash. You build a neural pathway called procrastinator. Each time you procrastinated, you reinforced this pattern in your brain, making it stronger and easier to follow the next time. After 5-10 years, you have become an expert procrastinator just like the person who practiced the piano for 10 years. They built up finger dexterity, you built up your ability to procrastinate.

So after putting things off in every area of your life for 15 years, you decide that you don't want to be like this anymore. You read books on changing and you vow to never procrastinate again! You do good for a few days until your will starts to fail you or you forget that you aren't supposed to be procrastinating. You automatically start running that old pattern without even realizing you are doing it. After a week of this you suddenly realize, "I am procrastinating again!" You try some other books and they suggest other methods. You are sure you will change this time. But you get the same outcome as before. You try for a few days and decide its too hard. You are just the way you are and you can't change. Or maybe its your parents fault or your ex boyfriend?

The problem here is that you aren't changing your neural pathways to reflect your desired behavior pattern. If you want to stop procrastinating you have to act in the opposite way EVERY TIME you face a situation that allows you to procrastinate. You must literally rewire the brain and over write the old programming. This is not an overnight fix and more than getting rid of bad habits on the piano is. The brain will fight you every minute of the way. The brain likes consistency and does not like to change, especially as we become older and our mind begins to crystallize into set patterns of being.

The only way to make real, long lasting change is to make slow, incremental steps in the new direction you wish to journey to. You cannot take huge leaps in most cases and trying to do so usually ends in failure. Whenever you have a decision to make that involves the behavior you want to change you must recognize it as a choice to change or reinforce an old pattern. Each time you give in to the old way of doing things, you make it harder to change and easier to fall back into.

The length of time it takes to make a change depends on how deeply the original pattern was ingrained in the first place. If it was ingrained with emotion or the pattern has a high emotional charge you work will twice as difficult because they universal language of the Universe is emotion and emoting is the strongest way to program something. You must be patient with yourself and realize it will be a slow process. No one becomes a champion tennis player over night or build muscles in a day. It takes days, months, sometimes years to develop these things. Making a behavior change is no different.

Having the right tools can make your struggle much easier though. If you are trying to dig a hole with a hammer or you don't realize that every time you scoop out some dirt you are unconsciously knocking some back in with your feet as you move forward then your journey is going to be so much harder than it needs to be. Having the right tools and a thorough knowledge of how to use those tools is essential if you wish to get the most of your time here on Earth.

Higher Balance Institute offers the most comprehensive program of tools every offered for personal change, spiritual growth and the progression of Awakening. All programs come with a money back guarantee if you aren't satisfied for any reason.

Only in your Mind

Posted on Aug 14th, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra

What are you?

A Man? A Woman?

Nice try but you have missed the point.

A human, you say? Still staring at the shadows on the cave wall I see.

"We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience." Teilhard de Chardin

To put it another way, We are not man. We are spirits experiencing what it is like to be man. In the same way you can choose to experience what it is like to be a hard worker or lazy, a Christian or a drug addict, a sports fan or a couch potato, you have chosen to "be" a human. But it is not a permanent thing. It's a temporary jacket, a mode, if you will, that will be taken off and let go of, when the need for it is over.

It would be better to view your human experience as a mode or mindset rather than an existence. You can choose to be lazy or hardworking but you can also choose to stop and do something else. Realizing this puts you in control. Because you are into working out this year, doesn't mean it must be your life from then on. If you choose to learn everything there is to know about cars or computers, it doesn't mean you must remain a slave to those things for the rest of your life. People have differing interests all throughout their life. Some expand more than others who keep the same narrow world view until they die.

If you view your human experience as no different than a current interest (in the grand scheme), you will have much more freedom to explore life and push your own boundaries. Why get caught up in what others tell you the rules are or must be? Have you ever gone back through all of your beliefs and sorted out what was yours and what you just accepted because that's what everyone else did?

What's more, have you noticed how you will defend those beliefs that aren't yours and resist any form of change to your structuralized reality? Food for thought for those paying attention....

Consider some of those beliefs you take for granted:

Government or police are here to protect you.

The "experts" will tell me what is true and what isn't.

Scientists and doctors are trained to have the answers.

You are only supposed to have one relationship at a time.

Babies are born naked, yet everyone is ashamed to see or be seen as adults.

Freedom of speech....as long as no one is offended?

Someone stealing part of your money is ok if it's called taxes.

Special clothes to swim in?

I can't look like a super model so I won't exercise to be healthy.

The right to go through life without being offended?

Democracy - where 51% can vote away rights of the other 49%.

Radiation mutates things....microwave ovens?

Being the victim of other people's thoughts and opinions. (i.e. - He made me feel...., I did....because of you).

Losing weight instead of losing fat?

President Bush once said, "We will not tolerate those who will not tolerate".

Bringing people freedom at gunpoint?

You're free because you can, anyway you want...inside your cage? It's better here than anywhere else....we have shiny gold chains instead of rusty ones.

Law enforcement vs keeping the peace?

Victimless crimes?

Judging your intent rather than your actions?

Jailing your intent? Thought crime? Punished for your Beliefs?

The human body cannot withstand moving faster than 40 miles per hour?

Nothing can move faster than the speed of light?

Ozone holes....that have always been there?

No such thing as an ice age?

We accept intuition but not esp?

Placebo effect?

Is my blue your red?

Is this all a dream?

Where do you go when you hit deep dreamless sleep?

200 years ago, the average life expectancy was said to be 35, yet all the founding fathers lived into their 60's just like today. What has modern medicine really given us?

You are supposed to feel sadness when someone dies?

Is life what you currently thing it is?

Are you a man or a women? A human?

Only in your mind.

A Twist on Selfishness

Posted on Aug 15th, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra

Is selfishness in spirituality always a bad thing or can it lead to higher development and enlightenment?

The majority who come to spirituality for power, even if they wish to help others with that power, do so for personal reasons. "They" want to improve. "They want to have more abilities, stronger abilities". Many would say that this approach will not work because it is self centered; but a little twist on this, and a bit of insight, may have you seeing things differently.

God is one consciousness fractionalized into all of the trillions of trillions of beings in the Universe. God's consciousness fills and permeates all that exists. God is learning in this dimension by using our micro consciousnesses as information gathering centers. In the end, all information returns to the source, the One.

Mystics have talked for thousands of years about realizing the truth of oneness. Gaining the insight that all beings are connected, because all beings are in actuality one being is what spirituality has been seeking since its existence. That one taste. All the forms and variations of consciousness are really variations of the One consciousness. All life and consciousness is an outgrowth of the one consciousness. All is one.

Now take the idea of selfishness in spiritual development. People would probably say that to want to do cool tricks and have different abilities would be a selfish endeavor. But consider that when you develop, God develops. When you experience, God experiences. Since there really is no such thing as separation of being, when you learn, God learns. This idea that "You are God" has been given by many of the masters in history. It is a literally true statement, not just saying something about potential or something about motivation. You aren't just connected with god, YOU ARE GOD.

Using this knowledge you can put a spin on your practices by changing your perspective. Knowing that any growth you accomplish will help God grow and learn can help you become freer psychologically from the programming that "if you gain, it's not right". By acknowledging what you really are, you change your energy from one of a self centered and closed pattern to an open pattern of infinite possibility.

Milarepa, a Tibetan Yogi who gained enlightenment in one lifetime, decided he would be a beacon for all of mankind. That through his efforts, by raising himself to the highest level possible, he would be raising all of mankind with him. We must ask ourselves, how can this be? Is it because he realized at some point that we are all connected, that we are all one? That when I improve, I pave the way for you to improve? That when you improve, it helps me as well?

Eric Pepin teaches that it's all about how you think, how you view the world. Have you ever looked at something that was dark or far away and it looked like one thing but when you got closer and had a bit more information, you saw it was something completely different? Think about how this piece of information, in this context can change your perspective in a radically new way.

Maybe you can't accept throwing yourself into service and still want things for yourself. Put a twist on that selfishness and realize it isn't so selfish at all. When I gain, we all gain. When we gain, God gains. Service is rendered. Mission accomplished.

Perspective.

Can you move outside of your bubble?

Perceptual Responsibility

Posted on Aug 15th, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra

How many of you still become irritated by the simple things like;

Not As You Are

Posted on Aug 15th, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra

There is a common flaw in most spiritual thinking. One that prevents progress and leaves us spinning our wheels for years if not dealt with. This particular flaw seems to always be lurking close, yet is never seen clearly. When I say what it is, you will nod in agreement and then you will forget...

When we talk of spirituality, we inevitably talk of change.

This is a constant string of change that hopefully will end in a better you. Often in this process there is a major flaw, an oversight in perception that seems to go unnoticed and yet, is vitally important. Throughout my own journey and while studying the journey of others I have seen a common flaw in our thinking. We acknowledge that we must make changes in our lives and that often those changes are difficult. The things we need to do to insure our best interest are sometimes the things we wish we could avoid, they are the things we want to do the least.

When dealing with these issues this particular flaw in our thinking that I mention, seems to always be lurking yet is never seen clearly. It is understood by all and acknowledged subconsciously but relegated to the intellectual garage where we store all of the other things we say we want to sort out, deal with or get rid of. There it sits for years or even a lifetime, untouched and rarely seen.

When I say what it is, you will nod in agreement and then you will forget. You will glance at it as if you are looking at the dishes that have piled up for days and are still being avoided, that unfinished project that you know deep down will never get done, that hobby you say you want to pick up but never put forth the effort to learn.

I am speaking of change of course. Not the little tinkering to your personality that self help books teach, but real change where you become a different person. The change I speak of is where you become the person you look up to in your mind. This may seem obvious as part of your goal but it seems to be over-looked by those on the path.

People seem to forget that they must not just change but change completely. The old self must pass away and be replaced completely by this new vision of what you wish to be. You cannot have kingly aspirations and yet still continue to sleep in the pig pen.

I feel that the majority of people forget this in their journey. We forget that the being we wish to be is not who we currently are. We often feel like we just need to add a new skill set to our old personality rather than experience genuine transformation. Eric speaks of there coming a point when "it just becomes you". He speaks of the point when you aren't struggling to "be spiritual" any longer and simply 'are' spiritual. It is not longer a part of your life, it is your life. It is who you are, in all that you do. It stops being a bubble that you occasionally visit as the once a week religious folks practice. It fills your very being, its influence is felt in every action from start to finish.

Smokers often speak of trying to quit but internally they still see themselves as smokers. They say things like, "I smoke, but I am trying to quit." Because of this they continue to "act" as smokers. They do the things smokers do because they identify with being a smoker.

People tend to take the same approach with spirituality. They see spirituality as an addition to the rest of their lives rather than being a life. So, they 'try' to act spiritual and do spiritual stuff now and then....as long as it isn't too inconvenient, doesn't take too long, isn't too difficult or not too many people disapprove. It's Red Cell Spirituality.

Now I don't necessarily fault those caught up in this. I am quite sure the majority are completely unaware of the problem and the difference. It has likely never occurred to them even on a superficial level. Something we must all keep in mind as we progress is that we still cling to ideas about what spirituality is that are incorrect, they are products for the Gaian masses.

Give this idea of change much reflection.

If you were suddenly catapulted to the advanced spiritual being you desire to be, what would be different about you?

How would your habits be different?

How would you think differently?

Would the things you find so important right now still have their value?

Would you recognize that new you if you met them?

Would the two of you get along?

You can get where you are going, but not as you are now. You must become something different, something other than what you currently are. You must leave behind the trappings of the being you think you are.

It's only a vehicle, don't get so attached to it.

Dare to become something new.

Solving the Problem of Evil

Posted on Aug 17th, 2008 by Mysticshakra : Mystic Mysticshakra
Philosophers and religious leaders have struggled for thousands of years to reconcile the existence of evil with the concept of a loving and merciful God. This problem has been a major problem for skeptics when people have tried to convince them of the existence of God.

"If God exists, why is there evil? If God is all powerful, why doesn't he stop bad things from happening?"

This question arises based on a problem of perception and another based on lack of expansive knowledge.

"If God exists, why is there evil? If God is all powerful, why doesn't he stop bad things from happening?"

This question arises based on a problem of perception and another based on lack of expansive knowledge.

-The Problem of Perception

Man, it's attempts to quantify and qualify what God is, has inadvertently projected human thinking and human ideas on it's concept of God. God is not man or a woman. God does not think like we do. It doesn't care about computers or fashion or nudity or the kinds of words you use. These are human concepts that try to box god into a specific limitation of religion. God is so much more than we can possibly imagine.

How aware of you of your kidney? How about the cells in your kidney? How about kidney cell number 143,254,239? Are you even aware of any of them? Of course not, yet you still care for them and wish them the best health and prosperity you can. You could even say you love them. You would not wish death on them and you would protect them if you knew they were threatened. However, you do not have a one on one relationship with any of them. In fact, there is such a vast size difference, such a vast intelligence difference between the two of you that it is impossible for you to relate to each other except on the most simple level, that of the desire to live.

The same holds true for our relationship with God.

God is an energy being that consists of the entire universe as its body. Entire Galaxies, containing billions of suns, each with their own planets and solar systems, are merely microscopic specks when compared to the universe as a whole. How much more insignificant are the individual planets themselves, of which you are like a single bacteria cell on the face of it, when compared to the Universe as a whole? Are we really so arrogant and selfish to believe that God is personally involved in our daily life? Who are we to decide how God will view us or treat us? It is because of ego that we feel that God should individually acknowledge us in a personal and special way. We are totally insignificant when compared to the whole. Yet we are all vital in the roles we fulfill as a whole.

Nature works on the concept of numbers. It knows that out of a litter of 10 puppies in the wild, 6 will probably be killed and maybe one or two will survive to fulfill its role of perpetuating the species. Rather than counting on those two, nature uses numbers to ensure the job gets done.

Those who serve the Universe are similar. The Force knows that most spiritual beings will fail to awaken or fail to fulfill their purpose. This is why it calls out to so many. Few even acknowledge this call, and fewer still follow the path through to it's conclusion. God loves us all enough to give us existence. But God will not come to you without effort on your part. If you wish to have a greater role, a greater connection to the Force, you must move closer, you must Awaken!

-Limited Knowledge.

The Ancient masters of the past have tried to tell us in their own ways what God was. They used the best knowledge they had at the time based on the level of development that man had attained. As time moves forward, mankind becomes more sophisticated in it's understanding. The philosophy of old has nearly become the common thinking of the intellectuals of today. Instead of a handful of Socrates' or Plato's now we have a small percentage of the population who has the same level of understanding. What was once extremely rare has become much more common while the rare has moved further into the unknown.

Because the intelligence and knowledge level of the average person in ancient times was limited, they concepts they had available to translate knowledge from the higher consciousness was very limited. They didn't have analogies like computer processing or airplanes or holographic technology. Even explaining something as a simple to us as a CD or a watch would have been nearly impossible.

When you read these ancient accounts and descriptions of what God is in books, you must take this limitation of language and concept into mind. It is simply an error of logic to assume they had it right the first time and that we should not attempt to refine our understanding by using modern terms with which we can better identify with.

The masters of the past were still learning about the way the universe worked as they went and did the best that they could. In the same way that we have a much better understanding of the human body because of years of research, many modern day masters and mystics have been able to distill the teachings of the old ones into a much purer form of knowledge. Knowledge that is much closer to the ultimate truth. Sadly, not every teacher out there is doing this, the majority of them are simply following the old cookie cutter patterns and dead ends of history, but that is a discussion for another time.

-Why does evil exist?

In the beginning, there was nothing. There is a law in this dimension, this frequency of existence, that says "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction." When the Force slowed it's vibration to enter into this dimension it caused a reaction. God is about life, experience and growth. When it entered this dimension it brought those and many other attributes with it.

But now the question must be asked, "Where is the opposite reaction to the Force entering this dimension? Where is the opposing force to God's presence?"

That opposing force is the darkside. The darkside is anti-life. It does not want growth or experience. Its goal is to make all existence cease and return to absolute nothingness. Evil exits because of this opposing force of energy. Now, understand that I am not talking about petty human ideas of evil like shoplifting or cheating on your wife, I am talking about things that suppress life and experience. There is very little that you can actually label "evil". The majority of what is considered evil is actually based on man made systems of morality. These systems change based on time, culture, country, etc. If anything, these rules could be considered to be of the darkside because they inhibit free expression and experience by using guilt or fear of punishment for breaking these rules and customs.

Contrary to popular belief, God is not all knowing. If it was, there would be no reason for any of this to exist. God is here, in this dimension, to learn. It learns through the living beings that inhabit the Universe. It learns indirectly through our experiences. The darkside wishes to suppress and end this experience, to stop life, to stop expansion and novelty. God cannot simply snap its "fingers" and make the darkside go away. This dimension has laws that govern its workings and everything that exists in it must abide by these rules. Miracles are certainly possible but if you bend the rules too often or too greatly there is always a backlash that attempts to "right the program" and restore balance to the system. If there was no evil, no darkside, the Force would have no opponent. God would have nothing to struggle against in order to develop its consciousness.

-There is a Choice

Whose efforts will you ultimately serve?

The darkside and the Force are opposing forces with opposite agendas. As a spiritual being you must choose to actively support one or the other, otherwise you will support the darkside by default.

"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing"

Spiritual beings exist to enhance the growth of the Force and resist the influence of the darkside. We are the spiritual immune system for the planet and for the Universe. Do not allow yourself to fall into the trap of assuming that only God exists in this dimension as some non dual traditions have incorrectly related. If there is nothing to struggle against there would be no growth and without growth there is no reason to exist. There must be an opposing force, an opposing intelligence to God in this dimension and that is the darkside.

To learn more about the struggle between light and dark, I recommend The following modules:
